Pharmacists may face GVH investigation

The Competition Office (GVH) may start an inquiry against the National Chamber of Pharmacists suspecting a price cartel and boycott.

The National Trading Association (OKSz) reported that the chamber may illegally influence medicine manufacturers to prevent selling OTC drugs outside pharmacies and that drug stores may illegally harmonize prices of unsubsidized drugs. In practice, there are no differences between drug prices in different pharmacies, GVH must find out whether there was an agreement behind that fact, GVH associate Teréz Amberger said.
