Orbán trustee charged with assault

Árpád Habony, one of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s closest advisors, was convicted of physical assault after an incident in 2006, political weekly Magyar Narancs said. The enigmatic Habony, who mostly avoids the press and public appearances but is nonetheless attributed with several strategic government decisions made in the past years allegedly got into an altercation with two pedestrians while driving his car. Exchanged insults led to Habony getting out of his car and physically harming the pedestrians, a middle aged couple. After the report came out Habony denied being convicted for assault and his lawyer noted that the couple in question are the defendants in another case where they also got into a dispute with a motorists and ended up assaulting the driver.
