Hungary's green ombudsman on Tuesday called for new legislation to make government spending on climate protection more transparent.
The law should independently regulate the management of the State Climate Protection Fund, as well as revenues from carbon emissions trading and other state spending on climate protection goals, Sándor Fülöp, ombudsman for future generations, told MTI.
Fülöp also called the government to replace the HUF 14.5 billion earmarked for the Green Investment System but reallocated for other projects last year. (MTI-ECONEWS)
