The number of legal cases brought by Hungarian companies trying to collect overdue receivables increased 15% year on year to 3,641 in Q1 2006, showing a troubling trend, according to Mikael C Szabo, who heads the Hungarian unit of French credit insurance company Coface.
According to figures compiled by Coface, cases involving trade companies accounted for 26.7% of cases filed because of overdue receivables in Q1 2006. Cases involving construction companies accounted for 15.1% of the total.
