Another depository for compacted household waste originating from Germany was discovered in Bács-Kiskun county in south Hungary, the local police said on Monday.
The local government of Kiskunmajsa received the first report about waste being imported and deposited in a former Soviet army barracks early last December. Since then, several other dumps have been revealed, mostly at remote farmhouses. A police investigation has now been extended to neighboring counties. Four people associated with the illegal activities have been placed in pre-trial detention.
Several people were arrested in December for their involvement in the transport and illegal dumping of 3,000 bales of German household waste in southern and central Hungary.
