Hungary's Monetary Council should take responsibility for the bad decisions it made over the past year and a half and its members should step down, Fidesz economy minister nominee György Matolcsy said in an interview with daily Népszabadság.
"The Hungarian Central Bank (MNB) committed grave professional mistakes and it seems it still hasn't learned its lessons", Matolcsy said in reference to the MNB's monetary priorities, which he said got mixed up by October 2008.
Matolcsy also said he was unsatisfied with the work of all the state-run market regulating bodies, including financial authority PSzÁF. (Népszabadság)
