Hungary's October trade gap widens to €207 mln on imports

Hungary's October trade deficit widened from the previous month as imports rose faster than exports, the statistics office said today.

The deficit was €207 million ($275 million), compared with €81.2 million in September and €355.5 million in the same period last year, the office said in a statement. Exports totaled €5.4 billion, 19.4% higher than in October 2005, while imports rose to €5.6 billion, up 15% from a year ago. The ten-month deficit was €1.96 billion versus €2.5 billion in the same period last year. (Bloomberg)
