Hungary will not send troops to Lebanon

Hungary has no plans to join the United Nation's Lebanon peacekeeping force, Hungarian Defense Minister Imre Szekeres told journalists on Wednesday, after meeting his German counterpart Franz Josef Jung. Szekeres said the only way Hungary could participate in the mission was if it called back some of its troops from elsewhere or increased the size of its contingent, currently numbering 1,000. He added that there are alternative ways Hungary is considering for participating in the resolution of the Lebanese crisis. (MTI)
