The Liberal Economic Board supports the nomination of Csaba Kákosy for Economy Minister, and also backs his program, said János Kóka, chairman of junior governing liberal party, SzDSz after the Board’s meeting.
Kákosy’s main objectives include the improvement of computer networks and the railway system while he would put great emphasis on reforming the transportation system. He also expressed he aims to start the privatization of the regional Volán bus companies in 2008.
When asked about the call by trade union alliance Liga for a strike of indefinite duration, Kóka said it serves political interests and not those of the trade union members. The government will not halt the reforms, he added. No matter what the government offers, the trade unions are always answering that they will not give up striking, he said. (Gazdasági Rádió)
