Hungary: Gov’t makes environmental investments priority projects

  The government decided at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday to make two projects to improve water quality and two flood protection projects priority projects, simplifying and speeding up preparations for the investments, Environment Minister Imre Szabó said on Friday.

The cabinet decision could speed up the projects, worth a combined HUF 82 billion, by as much as half a year, Szabó said. The decision affects water quality improvement projects in an area southwest of Lake Balaton and in the south of Budapest, as well as flood protection projects along the Danube and Tisza rivers.
