Hungarian tax authority Apeh collected Ft 8,363.7 billion (about $48.26 billion) taxes in 2007, i.e. 82.4% of tax type state revenues, president of Apeh, János Szikora, has announced at the authority’s press conference.
The number of economic partnerships increased significantly last year, i.e. 38,163 new businesses, replaced the 18,104, terminating their activities Szikora said, adding that, the number of private individuals holding a tax number grew as well. As opposed to the Ft 302 billion in 2006, Apeh saw Ft 357 billion tax differential last year, while the amount of imposed fines leaped from Ft 179 billion in 2006 to Ft 212 billion (about $1.22 billion) last year.
