Health Ministry calls tender for Ft 8.5 bln equipment

The Health Ministry has announced a tender to supply an estimated Ft 8.5 billion worth of medical equipment which will go to 109 hospitals, undersecretary at the ministry Mária Vojnik said.

The medical equipment will include 319 anesthesia delivery units, 416 ventilators and 544 intensive care unit monitors. The order will replace 25% of the hospitals' outdated anesthesia stations, 33% of ventilators and 40% of the ICU monitors, according to Dr László Vimláti, head of the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Society. The winner of the tender will lease the equipment to the hospitals, and service it during the term of the lease. The hospitals will be given an option to purchase the equipment for 20% of cost at the end of the lease.
