Green light to demonstrations on November 4

There is no reason to ban any of the demonstrations announced for Saturday, György Szilvásy, head of the Prime Minister's Office, told journalists following a meeting in Parliament with the head of the secret services.

"I have received no information or found no reason why the national security committee should be convened or any of the planned demonstrations should be postponed," Szilvásy said. He added that 31 demonstrations had been announced to the police for November 4, out of which "twelve look like ones for which both organizers and the police will have to be prepared more seriously," including ones to be staged by organizations of the extreme right in front of public TV headquarters in central Budapest.
