The government launched a HUF 2 billion winter public work program that offers temporary jobs to disadvantaged out of work Hungarians on December 1, government spokeswoman Bernadett Budai announced on Tuesday.
The program is expected to provide temporary jobs for 9,000 unemployed Hungarians, said Gábor Simon, state secretary at the Ministry of Social and Labor Affairs. The government allocated HUF 12.5 billion for ten public work programs this year. So far, about 26,000 people have participated. (MTI-Eco)
