Károly Antali has been appointed government commissioner in charge of public transportation, the Office of the Government Spokesman told MTI on Wednesday.
Antali's main task will be to work on proposals to increase the efficiency of public transportation. Among these proposals will be ones for the restructuring of the units of state-owned railway company MÁV and measures related to properties they own.
Antali will head a working group to be established to coordinate the restructuring of the public transport system. The group's members will include the chairman of MÁV as well as people picked by the finance minister, the social policy minister, the transport minister, the government commissioner in charge of coordinating crisis management measures and the National Asset Management Company.
Antali will present his proposals to the cabinet by July 25, MTI learnt. (MTI-ECONEWS)
