The government on Wednesday accepted a proposal to reduce budgetary expenditures for public transport to 1% of GDP beginning in 2010, Government Spokesman Domokos Szollár said on Friday.
Szollár said that government support for state-owned railway MÁV and long- distance bus companies would be reduced from the current HUF 330 billion (€1.23 billion) to around HUF 260 billion in 2010, noting that this sum would thereafter fluctuate in proportion to Hungary's GDP growth. (MTI-Econews)
