Germany says no deal with EU over VW law

Germany and the European Commission have failed in a last attempt to reach an agreement on a law that shields carmaker Volkswagen from takeover, Germany’s justice minister said on Thursday.

EU Internal Market Commissioner, Charlie McCreevy, launched legal action against Germany last June for failing to properly amend a so-called VW Law the European Court of Justice said broke EU rules on the free movement of capital across borders. (Reuters)
