The paper said that Martonyi will be leaving his post partly for political and partly for personal reasons, but the causes of his departure are as yet guesswork.
State undersecretary Gergely Prőhle and former Berlin ambassador Enikő Győri are tipped as the top two candidates to succeed Martonyi, but former Fidesz foreign minister Zsolt Németh, ex London ambassador János Csák and Fidesz MEP József Szájer are also in the hat, the paper said.
