EU officials have stolen €60 mln

The European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) has probed into EU officials who are suspected of having misappropriated €60 million in the period 2003 - 2007, Maximilian Strotmann, official representative of the Commissioner for Administrative Affairs, Audit and Anti-Fraud Siim Kallas announced.

OLAF had started probing in reference to publications of the Belgian media saying that EU officials had misappropriated some €60 million from the EU’s budget with the help of fake agreements with Belgian companies for cleaning the office buildings of the European Commission, Monitor daily newspaper writes today.
