Economy ministry official mum on reports about sacking

National Economy Ministry deputy state secretary Ferenc Bathó would neither confirm nor deny reports that he was being sacked, when asked by MTI late Tuesday.

“I'm on vacation,” Bathó told MTI. The ministry is to submit its draft for the 2011 budget to the government by October 15. The website of daily Népszabadság reported earlier that Bathó was put on forced leave because of tensions at the ministry. The ministry dismissed the report.

Bathó has worked for the National Economy Ministry and its predecessor the Finance Minister since 1990. (MTI-Econews)
