Parliament's budget committee, instead of Mihály Babak, an MP of governing Fidesz, has submitted an amendment to the 2010 Budget Act that would cut party financing by 15%.
The amendment would reduce budget spending on party financing this year by about HUF 233 million to HUF 1.263 billion.
After the cut, Fidesz's support will be HUF 870m and that of the Christian Democrats' HUF 213 million. The main opposition Socialist Party's budget support will be HUF 656 million, radical nationalist Jobbik's HUF 222 million and green-liberal opposition LMP’s HUF 124 million. (MTI – Econews)
