Members of the Budapest Municipal Council on Wednesday approved an economic plan for 2011-2014 that makes the introduction of five new local taxes a possibility.
The introduction of a congestion charge, an entertainment tax, a firemen's tax, a tax on the appreciated value of property and a regional development tax are included in the plan.
Budapest mayor István Tarlós said in a television interview late Tuesday that the five new taxes would replace existing taxes.
