The privatization of Hungarian agricultural firm Bábolna Zrt is pending on the sale of two subsidiaries, according to press information.
The privatization of Bábolna will follow the sale of two farms in Szendrő and Kerteskő, where the land (6,500 hectares and 450 hectares) will be sold too. But the land law in Hungary says only individuals may buy land, therefore the success of the sale is uncertain. Bábolna’s annual general meeting was suspended on April 20 and the decision on privatization issues was postponed for 30 days, thus new momentum must be gained at the repeated AGM on May 20.
