Austrian gov’t rejects Orbán’s critique of farmers

Austrian foreign affairs state secretary Reinhold Lopatka expressed regret over comments from Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán about Austrian farmers in Hungary. Orbán told Kurier that those Austrians who possess leases to cultivate farmland in Hungary al acquired their permits through illegal means. Lopatka rejeceted the generalization. He added that the interests of Austrians have already been violated by the current Hungarian government which is all the more unfortunate as the two countries’ economies relay on each other to prosper in many ways.
