MP János Lázár, head of the parliamentary group of the governing party Fidesz, on Monday submitted an amendment to a bill raising the tax on gaming machines, while MP Antal Rogán submitted a bill that would tax online gambling.
Lázár's amendment would raise the tax on gaming machines by 500%-600%, instead of the 25% proposed by National Economy Minister György Matolcsy. The tax would rise from a monthly HUF 100,000-120,000 per machine to HUF 500,000-700,000 per machine, depending on its location, under the bill.
Rogán's bill would levy a 20% tax on all net revenue from online gambling.
