The plane bringing off 24 Hungarians from Libya landed in Budapest at Sunday night.
72 other citizens of different European Union member countries were also rescued by this plane.
20 Hungarians are still in the North African country but Hungary will initiate no more rescue actions to take them out of Libya. „It was their choice not to come” Foreign Minister János Martonyi said yesterday at the Budapest Ferihegy Airport.
However, Hungarians needing protection in Libya are still awaited at the Hungarian Embassy which, contrary to several European Union states’ institutions, have not closed.
