János Winkler has been appointed member of the board of directors of E.ON Hungária. Winkler Winkler has spent some 20 years as a top executive in the telecommunications industry at T-Mobile and its predecessors and later at Magyar Telekom.
In his new role, he will be in charge of the energy sales, energy production and procurement activities and customer service at E.ON Hungária.
He graduated as an economist in Budapest in 1979 and earned an MBA in 2000 from Purdue University. He started his career in foreign trade and worked in Beijing at Hungary’s commercial representative bureau. He played a vital role in the success story of Westel/T-Mobile between 1992 and 2006 and became a deputy CEO of Magyar Telekom in 2006. Since 2010 he has been first a member, later the chairman of the board of directors of Malév.
E.ON Hungária’s board is headed by Konrad Kreuzer as chairman and Dr. Eric Depluet CEO, further members are Peter Mohnen CFO and Jan Maßmann who heads E.ON’s gas-midstream business in Hungary.
