Young Hungarian wins top prize at Innovact 2011

Tamás Haidegger, a Hungarian PhD student at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, has won first prize at Innovact 2011, the European forum for innovative start-ups, for a device that supports hand disinfection.

Haidegger was named winner of the contest in Reims on Wednesday. The young inventor's Stery-Hand gauges with ultraviolet light how "clean" its users’ hands are.

Haidegger was awarded €3,000 and a Medion PC worth €699.
