Turning clocks ahead to save Hungarians HUF 6 bln on electricity bills

Turning the clocks ahead on Sunday will save Hungarians HUF 6 billion on their electricity bills, about the same as the cost of total electricity consumed in the country on a single day, according to transmission system operator MÁVIR.

Hungarians use about 120 GWh less electricity during daylight savings time, MÁVIR said. On a daily basis, that translates as a 1.5-3% fall in consumption.
