Tests so far show no tainted Spanish vegetables in Hungary

All tests in Hungary for contamination of vegetables from Spain have been negative so far, farm ministry state secretary Endre Kardeván said on Tuesday.

At present, there are 154 samples in laboratories and about half have already been tested, Kardeván said. All of the tests have been negative, he added.

Hungary's Central Agricultural Office started the tests after outbreaks of E. coli in Germany, Denmark and Sweden that are suspected to have come from tainted Spanish cucumbers.
