The Szeged University of Sciences (SE Hungary) is spending HUF 880 million to install solar panels on its campus with a nominal capacity of more than 0.6MW, state secretary for climate and energy affairs Janos Bencsik said at a press conference on Thursday.
The investment, which is supported with European Union funding, will nearly double Hungary's existing 0.8MW of solar cell capacity, Bencsik said. It will raise the proportion of electricity used by the university that is generated using renewable resources to 7%, he added.
