Post offices to move into Integrated Community Service Spaces in 142 villages

State-owned Hungarian postal company Magyar Posta will put its services into Integrated Community and Service Spaces (IKSZT) -- refurbished buildings that provide basic services to residents in communities with small populations -- in 142 villages, CEO Laszlo Geszti said at press conference on Thursday.

When the post offices move into the buildings will depend on when their renovation is completed, said deputy-CEO Dezso Varga.

Altogether 635 local governments and civil organisations won a combined HUF 25.4bn to renovate buildings and turn them into IKSZTs under a tender that was part of the New Hungary Rural Development Program. This year, 110 of the IKSZTs were inaugurated.
