National Consumer Protection Authority finds infringements at Tesco stores

Hungary's National Consumer Protection Authority (NFH) on Thursday said it found several infringements of regulations at Tesco stores in and around the capital after inspections carried out based on customer complaints.

Inspectors found food on shelves that was past the sell-by date, warranties with misleading information and children's bicycle parts that could cause injury.

Tesco said in a statement sent to MTI on Thursday that it had not been officially informed of the infringements by the NFH, but would "naturally do everything necessary to cooperate with the authority to see that similar incidents do not take place in the future".
