A little more than a quarter of Hungarian companies were the victims of economic crime in the past year, a survey by consultancy PwC shows.
The survey of 85 of Hungary’s leading companies showed 28% were the victim of one or more economic crimes in the previous twelve months, PwC manager Agnes Sztankovics said. The comparable percentage for the region was 30%, while the global percentage was 34%, she added.
About 42% of the companies who said they were the victims of economic crimes put the resulting damage between HUF 20m and HUF 1bn. Damages for 46% were under HUF 20m.
