Hungary’s state tourism agency Magyar Turizmus has launched its sixth Budapest Winter Invitation campaign, showing journalists from all over Europe the city’s rich offerings in the off-season.
Magyar Turizmus’ strategic partners in the campaign are the capital’s three-star, four-star and five-star hotels, the Hungarian Hotel and Catering Association(MSZESZ), Budapest Airport, BTDM Budapest Tourism Destination Management Nonprofit, spa operator Budapest Gyogyfurdoi, Expedia and Hotels.com, Legenda Kft, Wizz Air and car rental company Sixt.
The campaign’s target markets are Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, the Scandinavian countries, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Serbia.
The fifth Budapest Winter Invitation campaign generated an 18pc increase in the number of guest nights for the capital.
Magyar Turizmus contributed HUF 100m, the partners HUF 57.5m, and lastminute.com contributed advertising space worth HUF 100m to the fifth campaign.
