Magyar Turizmus expects guest nights to rise almost 2% in 2012

Magyar Turizmus expects guest nights to edge up 1.8% in 2012, as the number spent by Hungarians stagnates but foreign guest nights climb 3.6%, CEO Gergely Horvath said on Thursday, citing the state tourism agency's marketing plan.

Magyar Turizmus's domestic campaigns will focus on spa and cultural tourism, wine and gastronomy tourism, active and ecotourism and village tourism next year, Horvath said. Its foreign campaigns will highlight spa tourism as well as conference and business tourism, concentrating on Budapest and Lake Balaton, he added.
