Hungarians involved in football bribery scandal

According to Germany’s attorney investigating the European football bribery scandal, the goalkeeper of Loki, the nickname of the team of the Hungarian city of Debrecen, was bribed to influence the end result of the Loki-Fiorentina match in 2009, the online version of weekly Heti Válasz reported.

The continent-wide match-fixing scandal involved as many as 200 matches in competitions including Champions League. The trial will kick off on Monday in Bochum and will touch 47 suspected games, including four with Hungarian interests. The case has six defendants.
