Hungarians drink less fruit juice, soft drinks

Consumption of soft drinks and fruit juice declined 10% in Hungary in 2012, the Hungarian Association of Soft Drink, Fruit Juice and Mineral Water Manufacturers said on Thursday.

The association said that annual per-capita consumption of carbonated soft drinks declined to 54.6 litres in 2012 from around 57 litres in 2011. Consumption of fruit juice fell to 20.4 litres from 23.7 litres during the same period. Production value of Hungary's soft drink, fruit juice and mineral water market comes to an annual HUF 170 billion.
