About 36% of Hungarian households' expenditures go toward housing services, the highest percentage among 28 European countries, a survey by market researcher Nielsen shows.
Housing services accounted for 25% of household expenditures on average in the 28 countries.
The survey showed 8% of spending by Hungarian households goes toward communications services, such as telephone and cable television subscriptions. About 7% goes toward everyday transportation.
Eating out accounts for just 3% of household spending, about the same percentage that goes into savings or investments.
Only about 1% of household spending is for vacations.
