The number of counterfeit forint bills dropped again in the second quarter in Hungary, according to figures published by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB).
In Q2 2011, 572 counterfeit bills were withdrawn, about 35% less than expected in the first quarter of the year. Authorities also seized 231 counterfeit foreign-currency bills, of which 199 were euros.
According to the MNB, there were a total of 269.1 million banknotes in circulation at the end of June.
