Companies to raise wages 3.8% in 2012

Hungarian companies plan to raise wages by an average 3.8% next year, a fresh survey presented at a national conference of HR managers organized by business daily Napi Gazdaság on Thursday shows.

DEVISE Hungary and Simconsult polled managers and HR staff at almost 300 companies in the survey. Wholly foreign-owned companies accounted for about half of the sample.

The companies said they would raise wages next year between 0.3% and 7%.

Top managers' wages are set to rise by 3.7% on average, while wages of middle managers climb 3.5%. Wages of skilled workers will rise 5.2%, according to the survey.
