Budapest has a very good chance of becoming the centre for training the European Union’s patent judges, National Economy Ministry state secretary Zoltan Csefalvay said at a press conference in Brussels on Tuesday.
The choice of Budapest is an acknowledgement of Hungary’s work in the first half of 2011, when it held the revolving Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Mr Csefalvay said.
The location of the training centre is more or less decided, but will only be finalised when the matter of the headquarters for the EU’s new unified patent system, which was created during Hungary’s EU presidency, is resolved, he said.
