Budapest remote heating company Főtáv has called a tender for artistic designs to be displayed on the walls of two four-storey buildings.
The company decided on the initiative with the aim of changing the general perception that block houses are necessarily dull and gray and are therefore an uninspiring part of their neighborhoods’ everyday lives, said Főtáv spokesman Róbert Balog.
The tender has two parts, one for the designs, and one for the buildings they will be painted on. The winning concepts will be rewarded with a total of HUF 1 million and Főtáv will cover the cost of realizing the plans.
Applications are received until September 20, with the hope that the initiative will catch on and other companies and communities will be looking to get involved, Balog said. (BBJ)
