The forint traded at 284.05 to the euro late Wednesday, compared to 287.90 on Tuesday, firming with other currencies in the region. In sessions Tuesday and Wednesday, the forint reclaimed about two-thirds of its loss on Monday, following the suspension of talks between the government and delegations from the IMF and EU on the conditions for Hungary's financial aid package.
The forint traded at 221.55 to the dollar late Wednesday, strengthening from 223.64 on Tuesday.
On the secondary market for government securities, benchmark yields fell 9-13bp for terms over a year. (MTI)
