The forint firmed to trade at 268.15 by 10 am on Monday from Friday afternoon's rate of 269.10 as global markets became more optimistic with easing worries both about euro-zone debt and about Egypt.
The forint firmed together with other East-European currencies, including the Polish zloty and the Czech crown.
Foreign exchange dealers expect the forint to fluctuate around 270 to the euro during the week.
The forint slipped slightly to US dollar which firmed against the euro. The dollar traded at HUF 197.16 Monday morning as against 198.52 late on Friday. The Swiss franc weakened to HUF 205.76 as against 207.28 on Friday, dipping to below HUF 206 for the first time since last November. (Econews)
