Foreign direct investment in Hungary is expected to total close to €4 billion by the end of 2006 and goes up to between €4 billion and €4.5 billion in 2007, Economy Minister János Kóka said in Budapest on Tuesday.The minister told reporters that this year's investments would bring the overall volume of FDI in Hungary to €55 billion, the highest among countries in CE Europe. Kóka said his ministry was holding talks with 120 investors with the prospective of creating 42,000 new jobs. He noted that the economy ministry had since November 2004 announced 40 big investments worth a total of Ft 639 billion, with 18,641 jobs already created or in the offing. (MTI)
