The European Investment Bank (EIB) approved a €80 million ($108 million) loan to Serbia, the assistant infrastructure minister said Friday.
Speaking at a meeting held in the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce on the subject of developing intermodal transport in Serbia, assistant infrastructure minister Dejan Lasica stressed that the EIB funds would be invested in building new intermodal infrastructure, the government reported on its web site. He cited the reconstruction of 19 bridges and six tunnels on the Niš – Dimitrovgrad rail route as the most important projects for which the funds had been secured. The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Belgrade University's Transportation Faculty and the Norwegian institute for technology and society Sintef. (b92.net)
