Central Credit Information System holds almost 800,000 bad debtors

The list of bad debtors in Hungary held 788,880 debtors with debts exceeding the minimum wage overdue for at least 90 days at the end of December, up more than 170,000 from one year earlier, the daily Magyar Nemzet said.

The number of debtors with overdue repayments was around 1.4 million at the end of December, of which repayments worth 354,000 have been settled since then.

In the corporate sector, the number of companies unable to repay their loans fell to 178,739 from 179,805 at the start of the year, however, more than 2,500 companies were added to the list between November and December alone, the paper said. (MTI – Econews)
