The Budapest Stock Exchange's blue-chip BUX index was up 0.39% at noon on Friday as the announcement of a new debt-rescue package for Greece at the Thursday's euro-zone summit meeting boosted sentiment at bourses throughout Europe.
The BUX commenced afternoon trade 84.74 points higher at 22,012.43 on an active composite exchange turnover of HUF 7.04 billion.
BSE blue-chips stood as follows at Friday noon: OTP Bank was up 1.16% at HUF 5,665 on an exchange-high turnover of HUF 6.18 billion; drug company Richter was up 0.66% at HUF 37,645 on a turnover of HUF 134 million; Magyar Telekom was down 0.54% at HUF 550 on a turnover of HUF 49 million; oil and gas company MOL was down 0.29% at HUF 20,390 on a turnover of HUF 596 million.
Major European blue-chip stock indices were in positive territory at midday, with London's FTSE-100 up 0.94% and Frankfurt's Xetra DAX up 0.65%.
The BUX's central and eastern European high-cap peer indices were also higher at noon, with Prague's PX-50 up 0.06% and Warsaw's WIG-20 up 0.21%.
