The Budapest Stock Exchange's blue-chip BUX index opened Wednesday trade up 0.11% at 23,400.94.
BSE blue-chips stood as follows at Wednesday's opening bell:
* OTP Bank was up 0.30% at HUF 6,118;
* Oil and gas company MOL was up 0.21% at HUF 23,850;
* Drug company Richter was unchanged at HUF 36,500;
* Magyar Telekom was down 0.18% at HUF 545.
Zoltán Varga of QUAESTOR remarked that a modest negative correction of previous-session gains could take place at the Budapest Stock Exchange at the open of Wednesday trade, noting, however, that the outlook among BSE investors has remained essentially positive.
He commented that if OTP's share value ascends above its Tuesday closing mark of HUF 6,100, it could continue to climb to the HUF 6,300 plateau. The analyst said that Richter, which closed Tuesday trade at HUF 36,500, must surmount HUF 37,000 in order to break its longtime downward trend.
On Tuesday, the BUX closed up 2.59% to 23,376.19 on a turnover of HUF 16.66 billion. (HUF 100 = €0.3748)
